Herning Folkeblad launches aoh+

Tomorrow, Herning Folkeblad launches digital subscription on its news website. The digital subscription (called aoh+) uses the premium model, allowing audiences’ to access most of the content for free but charging for the unique, high-quality content. The price will be 149 DKK per month, and the first month is available for free.

Herning Folkeblad is published by (and is the primary activity of) Mediehuset Herning Folkeblad and covers the area around the city of Herning in Mid-Jutland. In July, 2014, the news website had 47,783 visitors, 1,662,107 page views, and 612,570 visits (source: Danske Medier Research).

Ekstra Bladet reaches 23,000 digital subscribers

Last Wednesday, Danish tabloid Ekstra Bladet announced that it had reached 23,000 paying digital subscribers (which is above the news organization’s target). Some of these (we don’t know how many) subscribe through a bundled phone subscription from telecom provider Telmore that also includes HBO Nordic, Mofibo, Politiken.dk, and others.

Ekstra Bladet’s digital subscription is based on a premium model and is called EKSTRA and was introduced in May, 2013.
